Maxim Integrated was a San Jose, California semiconductor company founded in 1983 that designed analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Maxim became known for practical, widely used parts such as the MAX232 RS-232 transceiver and built a broad catalog for automotive, industrial, healthcare, communications and consumer electronics. Maxim's portfolio includes power management ICs, interface transceivers, battery fuel gauges and chargers, sensors, data converters, real-time clocks and supervisors. Its 2001 acquisition of Dallas Semiconductor added 1-Wire devices, iButton products and DS-series timekeeping ICs. Analog Devices acquired Maxim in 2021, and Maxim products are now offered under the ADI brand.
